The Role
This role will see you take ownership of structural design and seismic assessments across a range of building services projects — including the support and anchoring of mechanical components such as HVAC systems, ductwork, and pipework. You'll also oversee structural design elements associated with their pipe manufacturing plant, ensuring compliance, safety, and integration across disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading structural and seismic design and analysis for building services systems.
- Conducting structural assessments and verification of HVAC, piping, and mechanical supports.
- Overseeing the design and integration of structural elements from the pipe manufacturing plant.
- Providing technical guidance and peer review to ensure compliance with Australian Standards and seismic codes.
- Collaborating with mechanical, electrical, and automation teams to deliver coordinated, efficient solutions.
- Preparing design documentation, reports, and calculations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Supporting project delivery through design verification, QA, and client consultation.
About You
- Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering (CPEng or working towards preferred).
- 7+ years' experience in structural design, ideally within building services, manufacturing, or industrial environments.
- Robust technical understanding of seismic design principles and Australian Standards (AS/NZS 1170.4).
- Experience designing and assessing structural supports for mechanical and electrical plant.
- Excellent coordination and communication skills across multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong attention to detail, proactive mindset, and ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
