About the role:
The GV Infant, Child and Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing Service provides mental health assessment, consultation, treatment, care and support to individuals under the age of 25 years along with their families, carers and supporters. The service is staffed by committed and compassionate multidisciplinary professionals, who are well supported through supervision and training opportunities.
The Group-Based Parenting Program is a newly created service. Parents, carers and supporters of children aged 0-11 years and accessing ICYMHS will be provided with advanced group programs to strengthen individual and family challenges. The Senior Clinician would initially be responsible for developing strong relationships with family services, scoping of service gaps and leading a codesign process to establish the service offerings. The role will lead a small team who facilitate a range of parenting programs, parent-focussed interventions and strategies in a group based format across the region.
The successful candidate will have:
* Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Mental Health Nursing, Psychology or Occupational Therapy
* Experience and expertise in the provision of parenting interventions, particularly for those with children experiencing challenging and risky behaviour.
* Experience and expertise in group facilitation.
