Child Health Nurse Role
The Maternal and Child Health Service provides primary community care services for children and their families. This service offers a child-centered, family-focused health approach.
The Clinical Nurse plays a crucial role in the clinical management of clients with complex needs, ensuring quality standards are met. They work autonomously within the healthcare team structure and provide clinical leadership for professional and clinical practice, education, and research.
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess advanced clinical and problem-solving skills, as well as expert planning and coordination abilities. You should also have registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and a current practicing certificate.
In addition to your clinical expertise, you will be required to have postgraduate qualifications in Child and Family Health and current clinical practice experience in Child and Family Health. Highly desirable qualifications include completion of an immunisation course approved by Queensland Health and the ability to complete Central Queensland credentialing application for immunisation.
