We are currently seeking an experienced
Senior Mechanical or Structural Engineer
with a minimum
10 years’ relevant technical engineering and design experience
including
Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
to join our team at our head office in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane.

Responsibilities
Undertake Finite Element Analysis (FEA) of equipment, vessels, tanks, pipes and structures to optimise designs and assess existing infrastructure condition and modification
Integrate FEA results with structural and mechanical designs
Preparation, review and/or approval (as applicable) of other engineering calculations and assessments including tank designs and/or assessment, pipe stress analysis, pipeline calculations, pressure vessel calculations and designs
Prepare technical reports to summarise key inputs, assumptions, results and recommendations
Mentor and develop other engineers in your field of expertise
Act as custodian and/or be responsible for related software packages
Develop internal standards and procedures to support the development and growth of finite element analysis activities and other related computer aided engineering and design
Undertake Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities to ensure self-development with design and software applications including identification of best practices and improved efficiency
Provide design consultancy Project Engineering functions to deliver multi-discipline engineering and design packages on time and within budget
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree qualification in mechanical or structural engineering (degree to be recognised by Engineers Australia)
Chartered Engineer status with Engineers Australia and be RPEQ accredited
A minimum of 10 years’ technical engineering and design experience in relevant industries and applications such as bulk fuel storage, pipelines and process plants
A high level of expertise and proficiency in implementing and using FEA software packages
A deep working knowledge of API, ASME and relevant local structural, piping, tank and pressure vessel standards
Experience in the review and approval of relevant technical analysis and calculation
A systematic and analytical approach and a high regard for accuracy
Excellent communication and technical writing skills (oral and written)
Be highly skilled in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Project
