We are looking for a driven, commercially sharp General Manager to lead our Adelaide branch operations and take our performance to the next level.
This is a senior leadership role with real accountability — you'll own the P&L, shape the culture, grow the customer base, and make sure every delivery reflects our commitment to service excellence.
What you'll be doing
You'll have end-to-end responsibility for branch performance across operations, sales, people, fleet, and compliance. Day to day, that means:
* Leading branch operations to deliver consistent, efficient, and profitable service
* Driving revenue growth through new business development and key account management
* Building and mentoring high-performing teams across customer service, fleet, operations, and warehouse
* Maintaining full compliance with Chain of Responsibility, HVNL, Warehouse Management Systems and WHS obligations
* Overseeing fleet utilisation, driver performance, and warehouse operations
* Managing branch budgets, forecasting, and financial performance
* Championing continuous improvement across systems, processes, and service delivery
* Representing Direct Couriers as a trusted commercial partner to customers and stakeholders
What you'll bring
* Demonstrated senior leadership experience in transport, logistics, or courier operations
* Strong commercial acumen with a proven track record in sales and business growth
* Excellent customer relationship management skills — you know how to win and retain clients
* Sound knowledge of transport and warehouse compliance, including CoR, HVNL, WMS and WHS
* The ability to lead, coach, and inspire managers and frontline teams
* Financial literacy — you're comfortable owning a P&L and driving budget performance
* Resilience, initiative, and the ability to stay composed under pressure
