About The OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for two Systems Engineers to join our Surveillance & Communications Program based at Adelaide & Melbourne, reporting to the Systems Engineering Lead. We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9‑day fortnight and/or hybrid working.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide systems engineering input across all stages of the product life cycle, from requirements elicitation through to integration, test and acceptance.
- Determine appropriate requirement sets for use in high‑frequency (HF) products.
- Utilise domain, discipline and systems engineering knowledge to enable, support and deliver products robustly, demonstrating they meet their requirements and are fit for purpose.
- Perform analyses to define and characterise the system and its components.
- Create test plans and procedures in support of the system verification and validation program.
- Provide support to the product integration team and conduct factory acceptance test activities within the local test facilities (located in Adelaide and Melbourne).
- Create and manage systems engineering artefacts within the Jazz suite of requirements‑management tools (DOORS Next and ETM) and Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tool Cameo Systems Modeler.
About YOU
- A university‑level engineering qualification, preferably within Systems, Electronics, Software or Mechatronics.
- Demonstrated systems engineering experience coupled with engineering experience in a relevant discipline.
- Proven ability to function confidently within a project team environment with demonstrated problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment or autonomously.
- Ability to partner with and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to obtain the necessary deliverables.
- Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) is considered desirable.
- Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain NV1 Clearance.
- Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations.
