We are seeking an experienced and strategic Maintenance Manager to lead and support maintenance operations for our fleet of heavy earthmoving equipment operating throughout Western Australia. Based in Perth at our Naval Base operation, this role provides leadership, technical oversight, and operational support to site-based teams.
Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will be responsible for the overall performance, reliability, and continuous improvement of maintenance activities across our operations. You will work closely with the Workshop Supervisors and site teams to drive safe, efficient, and cost‐effective maintenance outcomes.
This is a Perth‐based role with regular site travel as required.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide leadership and technical support to the Workshop Supervisor and maintenance teams
* Develop and implement maintenance strategies to improve equipment reliability and availability
* Oversee planning, budgeting, and cost control for maintenance operations
* Review maintenance performance, KPIs, and reporting to drive continuous improvement
* Support troubleshooting of major breakdowns and critical equipment issues
* Ensure compliance with safety, statutory, and company requirements
* Optimise maintenance systems, processes, and asset management practices
* Manage OEM and contractor relationships
* Drive a strong safety culture across all maintenance activities
About You
* Trade‐qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic (or equivalent)
* Extensive experience in mining or heavy earthmoving maintenance
* Proven leadership experience in a senior maintenance or reliability role
* Strong understanding of asset management, planning, and reliability principles
* Experience working with CAT, Komatsu, Hitachi or similar fleets
* Highly developed problem‐solving, and decision‐making skills
* Ability to influence and support remote teams from a Perth‐based role
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
