School psychologists provide counselling and psychological assessment of students in primary and high schools, supporting teachers, families and external agencies to enhance student learning and wellbeing.

Remuneration Package
Base salary ranges from $101,122 to $160,983, plus leave loading and superannuation contributions. Rural and remote bonuses up to $30,000 annually. Recruitment bonus of $20,000 available to successful applicants.
Key Accountabilities
* Provides counselling and psychological services to students, individually and in groups, including short‐term therapeutic interventions within training and supervision limits.
* Engages with and implements the Professional Practice Framework for the NSW School Counselling Service.
* Collaborates with school leadership to improve student learning and wellbeing outcomes and implements departmental priorities.
* Supports students with complex behavioural needs, contributing to their social, emotional and academic development.
* Administers cognitive, social, emotional and behavioural assessments, reports results, and collaborates to improve outcomes.
* Works with learning and support teams, parents, carers and agencies to develop appropriate school‐based support.
* Responds as part of a team to assist schools experiencing serious incidents.
* Refers students and/or families to other agencies to support health and wellbeing outcomes.
Essential Requirements
* Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy, Partnership Agreement with NSW AECG Inc., and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Strategy.
* General or provisional psychology registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.
* Valid Working with Children Check clearance – NSW.
* Current and valid driver's licence, ability and willingness to travel between work sites.
* Australian citizenship or permanent residency.
