The role and team
The Senior Systems Administrator is a key member of the Infrastructure Operations team, responsible for the ongoing operation, security, and optimisation of network, security, and hybrid infrastructure platforms across corporate, retail, and supply chain environments.
The role plays a leadership function within the team, mentoring others and acting as 2IC to the Infrastructure Operations Manager. You will provide senior technical expertise across network and security domains, acting as a key escalation point and trusted link between Infrastructure, Security, Cloud, and managed service providers. Support and influence solution design while implementing secure, resilient infrastructure aligned with enterprise standards, and maintain core network and security platforms including Palo Alto, Cisco, and remote access technologies.
The ideal candidate brings strong experience in systems administration, a passion for continuous improvement, and a commitment to service excellence in a dynamic enterprise environment.
So, who are you?
* You will have a minimum of 8 years' experience within a similar Senior Systems role within Global enterprise environments (essential)
* Strong experience managing enterprise network environments (Cisco, Palo Alto, SD-WAN) (essential)
* Deep understanding of firewall policies, security controls, and secure network design (essential)
* Strong troubleshooting capability across network, infrastructure, and security domains
* You'll be part of a shared after hours on-call roster, providing support as needed outside regular business hours.
* Have experience with hybrid infrastructure including VMware and Azure environments
* Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work well with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* Strong incident management skills, including escalation and resolution aligned with business processes and priorities.
