Responsibilities
* Shape the design culture, set the vision for design and ensure alignment with business goals to elevate the overall user experience in the Group Transformation Domain.
* Use your expertise to ensure design direction aligns with NAB's strategic goals and regulatory requirements.
* Work closely with product, engineering and marketing leadership to help define future value propositions and create desirable experiences that achieve product-market fit.
Day to Day
* Design and launch experiences that empower, inform and delight customers and colleagues, creating lasting value for customers and for our business.
* Maximize reuse by using design system and contributing design system components that can be used by others.
* Enforce high standards for design quality across all projects, conducting regular reviews and critiques to ensure the output meets customer/colleague needs and business objectives.
* Make important decisions based on research and understand how this research impacts others.
* Embed inclusive design principles and best practices to create inclusive and user-friendly designs for all.
* Set direction and embed good practice within teams.
* Partner with domain owners, POs as a trusted advisor.
* Hold accountability across complex products and services and outcomes within their team/squad.
* Mentor and coach designers (no direct reports), fostering their growth and helping them to produce high-quality design work using actionable feedback.
Qualifications
* Demonstrated professionalism and attention to detail in all interactions.
* Ability to craft standards and drive product design excellence across the team and domain.
* Proven experience delivering scalable, customer-centric solutions while setting design direction – able to zoom out to see the big picture view and zoom in on detailed, quality design.
* Resilience with the ability to thrive under pressure and adapt to complex challenges with confidence – can stand their ground with expert stakeholders.
* Proven experience influencing stakeholders through clarity, conviction, and strategic storytelling.
* Ability to translate design expertise into measurable outcomes and business impact.
* Demonstrated leadership capability, ability to strengthen team capability through coaching and feedback.
