Position Overview
As a Senior Lecturer in Nursing, you will take on a key academic leadership role shaping the future of contemporary nursing education. You will champion innovative curriculum design, elevate teaching excellence, and expand work-integrated learning through influential partnerships across the health sector. Based at UniSC's Fraser Coast campus, you will also play an important role in building research capacity, supervising Higher Degree by Research candidates and mentoring emerging academics to foster a strong, collaborative scholarly culture.
In parallel, you will advance a purposeful research agenda that addresses critical health challenges and delivers meaningful impact. Through your leadership, you will help develop highly capable, future‐ready graduates equipped to lead in complex clinical and community settings, while contributing to knowledge that improves health outcomes locally and globally.
Responsibilities
* lead and inspire teaching excellence by designing and delivering innovative, future‐focused nursing programs that engage and empower students and colleagues;
* drive impactful research through high‐quality publications, successful grant funding, and leadership of research projects that create real‐world health outcomes;
* strengthen the University community by contributing to academic leadership, governance, and capacity‐building initiatives across the School and broader institution;
* build influential partnerships with healthcare providers, industry, and community organisations to expand opportunities and enhance student learning experiences.

You are an accomplished academic and an emerging or established leader in nursing education and research. You bring energy, vision, and a strong sense of purpose to your work, with a passion for shaping the next generation of healthcare professionals. You are known for your ability to inspire, whether in the classroom, through your research, or in collaboration with colleagues and partners. You thrive in a connected, values‐driven environment and are motivated by work that delivers meaningful impact.
Qualifications
* A doctoral qualification in a relevant field, or equivalent accreditation and standing;
* Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a nurse;
* A strong and demonstrable record of teaching excellence, including curriculum design, student engagement, and leadership in higher education;
* An established research profile with evidence of publications, grant success, supervision of higher degree candidates, and real‐world impact;
* Proven leadership capabilities that foster a positive, high‐performing academic culture;
* Experience in academic administration, such as program coordination or related functions;
* Active engagement with professional bodies, industry, or community networks;
* A commitment to continuous professional and academic development;
* Postgraduate qualifications in higher education;
* Recognition for excellence in teaching and/or research.
