Responsibilities
What you\'ll be doing
Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychiatry services are focused on delivering excellent clinical care to children and young people, and supporting their families in line with evidence-based practice. Providing contemporary comprehensive Specialist Child and Adolescent Psychiatry services at the primary facility and other facilities where applicable for optimal patient outcomes delivering a healthy community through quality care. Providing clinical leadership, participating in quality improvement activities and providing training and education to clinicians across multiple disciplines to achieve quality education and safe clinical practice.

Where you\'ll be working
This position is based at Lismore Base Hospital, a regional referral, Level 5 base hospital providing a wide range of health services to residents in Northern NSW including Mental Health Inpatient and Outpatient services. Please visit the NNSWLHD Mental Health Services for more information. Child and Adolescent Mental Health Workers are based in Grafton, Lismore, Ballina, Byron Bay and Tweed Heads, and provide support for young people aged 12 to 18 years. They may also provide referrals to other community services that will more appropriately meet the young person\'s needs.
Child and Adolescent Mental Health Workers offer:
Mental health assessment

Individual counselling and support

Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist Psychiatrist and/or specialist international medical graduate pathways
Child and Adolescent Advanced Training Certification
Demonstrated recent clinical experience in Psychiatry at the role delineation of the service
Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team
Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement
Availability to participate in an on-call roster which covers Older Persons and Adult Psychiatry as well as Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
Valid unrestricted driver\'s licence for use in NSW/Australia and willingness to travel in the course of employment, including overnight stays as required
