About the JCTS
Joint Colleges Training Services Pty Ltd (JCTS) is a joint venture between the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) and the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP). JCTS facilitates shared GP training activities, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health initiatives, cultural education, mentorship, and registrar housing in remote communities.
About the opportunity
Reporting to the Regional Manager for VIC/TAS, the Program Coordinator plays a key role in delivering and coordinating JCTS programs across the region. You'll work closely with GP Training teams, Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services (ACCHOs), and key stakeholders including Tasmanian Aboriginal Centre (TAC) to support the delivery of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health training activities. This role is central to ensuring culturally safe, well-coordinated training experiences for GP registrars, while fostering strong engagement with community and training partners.
As a Program Coordinator, you'll:
* Coordinate and support the delivery of cultural health education safety training and related events
* Build strong relationships with registrars, supervisors, practices and ACCHOs
* Coordinate activities relating to ACCHO registrar placements and support training pathways in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health settings
* Schedule and support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander registrar activities working closely with key stakeholders
* Contribute to regional planning, forecasting and training capacity activities
* Maintain accurate program data and respond to stakeholder enquiries
* Support continuous improvement, including handling enquiries, appeals and feedback processes
Skills and experience
* Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and a strong commitment to cultural safety
* Demonstrated experience in program coordination or delivery (health, education or community sectors)
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
* Ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively across teams
* Previous experience of working Government, non-government and community-controlled health services
* Comfortable using Microsoft Office and managing data across systems
* Tertiary qualification in relevant area such as health or business (Desirable)
* Current driver's licence and willingness to travel
