Our client, a large, Federal Government Organisation responsible for health research, funding, promotion and regulation, require the services of a Data Scientist & Modeller.
Duties of the Data Scientist & Modeller
* Be responsible for the work on the Viability & Investability Scenario Tool within the aged care sector;
* Develop, maintain & enhance models in R;
* Design forecasting, simulation, & scenario modelling approaches;
* Build & maintain scalable data pipelines;
* Source & integrate data (primarily sourced from an OracleDB);
* Support data ingestion, transformation, & storage;
* Identify & resolve model performance & data issues;
* Translate requirements into technical solutions;
* Communicate modelling approaches & insights clearly; and
* Provide expert advice on modelling & data practices.
Skills and Experience Required
* Strong programming skills in R & SQL;
* Experience developing production-level forecasting &/or estimation models;
* Demonstrated ability to work with stakeholders & translate business needs into models;
* Experience working with complex datasets & pipelines;
* Experience modelling financial performance or sector viability (desired);
* Developing, documenting, testing, & maintaining R packages (desired);
* Experience with git & managing distributed work (desired);
* Understanding of MLOps practices (model deployment & lifecycle management) (desired);
* Experience in with the Atlassian suite of apps (Jira/BitBucket/Confluence) (desired);
* Familiarity with aged care data assets (e.g. Aged Care Data Warehouse) (desired);
* Familiarity with Oracle SQL (desired).
