About the Role
You'll be the first line of defence for our front office pricing and risk systems at CMC Markets. This is not a reactive support role; you will own the health and stability of our front office pricing and risk systems during local Asia Pacific working hours. Your problem‐solving skills will be tested daily as you monitor live applications, spot anomalies before they become incidents, and make real‐time decisions about system interventions. This role positions you at the intersection of technology and finance, working alongside traders, business operations teams and developers.
Responsibilities
* Provide first‐line technical and operational support for all front office pricing and risk systems during Asia Pacific trading hours.
* Monitor live applications for performance issues, validate system connectivity and conduct controlled restarts or environment switches when needed.
* Gatekeep changes to pricing and risk parameters, ensuring each modification is accurate, authorised and properly risk‐assessed.
* Troubleshoot incidents independently, exhaust local resolution options and only escalarte to offshore teams when necessary.
* Collaborate with traders, business operations and application support teams to resolve issues quickly, perform root cause analysis and identify opportunities to prevent recurrence.
* Proactively develop monitoring tools, dashboards and alerting mechanisms that catch problems early.
* Recommend process enhancements that reduce operational risk and participate in post‐incident reviews to strengthen system resilience.
Qualifications
* Experience from a front‐office trade support environment, with an understanding of the pressure of keeping trading systems operational.
* Comfortable with scripting languages such as Python, Bash or PowerShell; Linux environment exposure is a plus.
* Knowledge of SQL, time‐series databases and real‐time data feeds; awareness of market data systems, order routing or risk calculation platforms is advantageous.
* Familiarity with system monitoring tools, log analysis and configuration management practices.
* Highly proactive, inquisitive mindset with strong attention to detail, decisive action under pressure and genuine ownership of system health and stability.
* Effective collaborator who works well across functions and time zones, communicating clearly even during high‐pressure situations.
