Position Overview
Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology (AIBN) – Full time (100%), fixed‐term position for up to 3 years. Base salary in the range $117,958.12 – $132,247.57 + 17% superannuation (HEW Level 8). Based at the StLucia Campus.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist the Cyclotron and Radiochemistry Facility Manager with maintaining cleanroom and clean workstation compliance with international standards (PIC/s, ISO) and equipment calibration.
* Participate in maintaining the Radiochemistry Facility's Pharmaceutical Quality System (PQS) by managing document control and ensuring latest revisions are electronically available to users.
* Expand availability of radiochemicals, radiotracers, radiopharmaceuticals and investigational medicinal products for clinical and pre‐clinical researchers.
* Assist in the development of radiolabelling strategies using manual and automated techniques.
* Assist in the development of quality control techniques (radio‐HPLC, TLC, gamma‐spectrometry, etc.).
* Author, revise and implement documentation (SOPs, batch records, validation protocols, reports) as part of the PQS.
* Operate the "Cyclone18 Twin" cyclotron for production of radioisotopes.
* Achieve and maintain certification as a Dangerous Goods Shipper and prepare documents/packaging for Class7 goods.
* Participate in radiochemistry safety meetings and other duties as reasonably directed.
Qualifications and Experience
* Postgraduate qualifications in Radiopharmaceutical Science or related field, or progress towards one, combined with extensive experience in radiochemistry, lab management or equivalent.
* Strong initiative, cooperative teamwork, detail orientation and prioritisation skills.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills across diverse groups.
* Laboratory research/development experience in radiopharmaceutical science, physics or biomedical sciences.
* Willingness to work safely with radioactive material.
* Desirable: Current Queensland Health Radiation Use Licence.
* Desirable: Current Dangerous Goods Air Acceptance Certification (Class7 Radioactive Materials).
* Experience in GAMP, TGA licensed GMP facility, clinically based "hot‐lab", automated radiochemistry synthesizers and operation of medical cyclotrons.
