We are partnering with a long-established not-for-profit education provider committed to transforming lives through learning across Gippsland. As the organisation enters an exciting new phase of growth, we are seeking a highly capable General Manager – Operations and Finance to join the executive team.
This is a pivotal leadership opportunity to influence strategic direction while ensuring operational excellence across a multifaceted education environment that includes both a secondary school and a registered training organisation (RTO).
About the Role
Reporting to the CEO and working closely with the Board, you will provide executive oversight of corporate services and lead key operational functions, including:
* Financial strategy and management, including budgeting, statutory reporting, and audit coordination
* Business operations, risk management, and compliance across all sites
* Facilities and capital works management
* Oversight of ICT infrastructure and internal support services
* Leadership of high-performing teams across finance, administration, and business support
* Contribution to governance and strategic planning at the executive level
You’ll bring a strong blend of strategic thinking and operational know-how to lead the organisation’s support services effectively and sustainably.
About You
You’re an experienced senior leader with a track record of driving business operations in a values-led environment. You’re financially astute, people-focused, and confident navigating complex stakeholder relationships.
Key Skills and Experience
* Executive-level experience in operations and/or corporate services
* Strong financial management capability; accounting qualifications preferred
* Proven ability to lead, inspire, and develop diverse teams
* Experience managing capital works and facilities operations
* Sound understanding of compliance, governance, and risk frameworks
* Sector experience in education, community services, or not-for-profit highly regarded
