What you can expect:
- You’ll lead and contribute to cultural values mapping projects across both the east and west coasts.
- You’ll provide expertise in Native Title connection research and assessments, developing new technical tools to help shape new ways of working.
- You’ll work in close collaboration with our broader specialist teams at EMM, including our Social Assessment & Performance, Approvals and Strategic advisory teams.
- You’ll deliver high-quality advice, reporting and insights that add significant value, managing relationships with diverse stakeholder groups and communities to deliver project deliverables with integrity and meaningful outcomes.
- You’ll mentor and develop our early career heritage specialists, creating opportunities to learn and grow.
- You’ll build robust relationships with state and Commonwealth regulators.
- Collaborate across disciplines to integrate cultural heritage considerations into planning and approvals processes.
- You’ll continue to hone your coaching and mentoring skills and support the development, implementation and tracking of your team’s development goals.
- You’ll help cultivate innovation and a highly collaborative “one team” culture.
- You’ll foster homeworking and office collaboration days that provide flexibility and a sense of togetherness.
Qualifications and requirements
- You do things with passion, drive, respect and integrity.
- A degree in Anthropology is essential.
- A minimum of 8-10 years’ experience as an applied anthropologist, ideally in a consulting or industry setting.
- Demonstrated expertise in cultural heritage, Native Title processes and connection projects.
- Demonstrated ability to design and deliver cultural values mapping, ethnographic research, and Native Title connection reports.
- A solid understanding of legislative frameworks and regulatory processes and how heritage integrates into infrastructure, mining and renewables projects.
- High-quality research, analysis and reporting skills, with the ability to translate complex findings into practical advice for clients.
- An exceptional ability to adapt and tailor communication to work effectively with Traditional Owners, clients, regulators, and multi-disciplinary teams.
- The confidence to operate independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
- Honed project management and project delivery skills.
- Current/valid unrestricted driver’s license.
- Flexibility to travel to project sites across Australia.
