Business Services Director
to help us write the next act in their story.
This is a brand-new role, created to lift the maturity of the corporate functions and help The Empire grow sustainably, without losing what makes them special. You'll work closely with the CEO and Board, driving financial sustainability, operational excellence, and strong governance — all while keeping the creative spirit of The Empire front and centre.

What you'll be doing
As Business Services Director, you will:
* Lead financial strategy and sustainability to support growth plans
* Oversee corporate functions including HR, risk, governance, and policy
* Provide the CEO and Board with clear, actionable insights (no jargon)
* Partner with external providers to keep financial operations seamless
* Drive process improvements and modernise systems for better outcomes
This is a hands-on leadership role with significant strategic influence, offering the opportunity to modernise systems, shape culture, and elevate business performance.
What we are looking for
To be success in this role you will bring:
* CPA/CA qualification and deep financial management expertise.
* Proven success in senior hands on roles spanning finance, risk, governance, or corporate services.
* A knack for turning complex financial data into plain-English insights
* A contemporary, people-focused leadership style that fosters inclusion and collaboration.
* Passion for the performing arts, community impact, and organisational growth.
* Experience in the not-for-profit, arts, or government sectors will be highly regarded.
