About The Role / Opportunity
This is not just “community nursing” – Hospital in the Home (HITH) at Tamworth is a true hospital substitution service. Every day you’ll manage acutely unwell patients who would otherwise occupy a ward bed: IV antibiotics and antifungals, complex wound management, post‑op drains and monitoring, palliative care, and more. You’ll also run our busy hospital‑based Infusion Ward (chemotherapy, blood transfusions, iron infusions) and provide vital surge support to the acute medical/surgical wards when needed. A typical week is varied, fast‑paced and rewarding – autonomous home visits in the morning, Infusion Ward in the afternoon, daily multidisciplinary case conferences, and the satisfaction of keeping families together.
About Us / About Our Team
You’ll join a versatile, responsive, and genuinely clever workforce that lives Hunter New England Health’s promise: excellence for every patient, every time. Our HITH team is tight‑knit, highly skilled and proud of the difference we make. We work hard, laugh often, and never leave anyone behind. Daily clinical huddles, senior on‑call support 7 days a week, and a culture that celebrates diversity and cultural respect (especially with our large Aboriginal community) are non‑negotiable parts of who we are.
About the Location
Tamworth – Country Music Capital, affordable housing, top schools, no peak‑hour traffic, and weekend adventures in the New England highlands or a quick 4‑hour drive to Sydney or the coast. Big‑city medicine without the big‑city stress.
