Program Details
* Location: Calvary Mater Newcastle Intensive Care Unit (6 bed Level 5 tertiary unit)
* Term: 12 months, 0.8 FTE
* Rotation: 8-week rotation to the John Hunter Hospital Intensive Care Unit
* Employment type: Temporary Part-Time (32 hours per week) with 12-month duration
* Salary: Registered Nurse Year 1 — $36.39 to $51.09 per hour plus superannuation and annual leave loading; salary packaging options
* Possible permanent position upon completion of the 12 months
What You Will Do (Responsibilities)
* Engage in the ICU TTSP program designed to support nurses transitioning to NSW Health adult ICUs
* Complete five learning pathways, including Online My Health Learning resources
* Submit 8 Learning Portfolios and participate in 4 locally delivered study days
* Undertake Work Integrated Learning (WIL) activities and complete capability assessments
What You Will Bring (Qualifications and Skills)
* Communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
* Ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team
* Demonstrated recent clinical experience in an acute care and/or hospital setting
* Registered nurse authorised to practice by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
* Ability to work unsupervised, proficiently and in an organised manner during periods of high demand
