About the Opportunity
The City of Kalgoorlie‑Boulder is looking for a full‑time Manager Airport based at Kalgoorlie‑Boulder Airport, WA. Reporting to the Director Corporate & Commercial, this critical leadership role is responsible for the safe, compliant, and efficient management of airport operations in line with national regulations and local government priorities.
Responsibilities
* Managing the overall operational control of Kalgoorlie‑Boulder Airport.
* Developing and maintaining emergency and security plans per aviation regulations.
* Leading aerodrome technical inspections and compliance monitoring.
* Identifying and pursuing commercial and business development opportunities.
* Contributing to future terminal and airside infrastructure planning.
* Engaging key stakeholders and contributing to airport‑related projects.
* Overseeing security screening of passengers and baggage.
* Preparing and managing airport‑related budgets and reporting data.
* Leading staff with a strong focus on safety, compliance, and performance.
About You
To qualify, you need tertiary qualifications in aviation operations or substantial experience managing major regional or capital city airports, and demonstrable experience in local government or a similar public sector environment.
Essential certifications:
* Eligibility for an Australia‑wide AusCheck ASIC.
* Current National Police Clearance.
Highly valued skills and qualifications:
* Certificate IV in Training & Assessment.
* Reporting Officer/Works Safety Officer Certificate.
* Stakeholder engagement and team leadership experience.
* Financial management and reporting expertise.
* Familiarity with infrastructure planning, project delivery, and airline liaison.
