Working within the Operations department, this position plays a key role in Council's Open Space Strategy and Leadership Team.
Contributing to the effective delivery of Open Space maintenance – Parks & Gardens, Tree Management, Playgrounds, Roadside Slashing & Spraying. The role includes supervising the open space team and delivering agreed standards.
To be successful in this role you will need Qualifications
* Current Drivers Licence
* Employee Working with Children's Check
* Level 2-3 Playground inspector (desirable)
* Plant – Skid Steer, Roller, Backhoe, Loader (required)
* Minor Plant – Ride-On-Mower (desirable)
Experience
* Experience associated with the maintenance of public open spaces such as parks, gardens and roadsides.
* Knowledge or Qualifications relevant to the role e.g. Certificate in Horticulture, Arboriculture or Environmental Management – Desirable.
Key selection criteria 1
Experience leading a small / medium sized team in parks and gardens, roadside slashing, spraying, tree management.
Key selection criteria 2
Understanding of horticultural practices / arboriculture or ability to research.
Key selection criteria 3
Ability to adequately instruct staff that works are completed within set time frames, budgets and standards.
