An assistant editor organises raw footage, syncs audio, creates rough cuts, and supports the lead editor. Their work is crucial for the editing process, allowing the lead editor to focus on refining the final cut and ensuring a seamless narrative flow. Working within the Editing Department, you’ll be supporting the team throughout the production and post-production stages. You will aid the Editing Department in collecting and organising all of the elements needed to edit the film. The below may be part of your core responsibilities Preparing rushes for editing Labelling picture and sound files Making notes on camera, sound and continuity Organising material to suit the editor’s preferences Sourcing temporary sound and music for cuts Creating a rough assembly Preparing final deliverables What are we looking for?
