Australia Bay Seafoods is seeking Ships Engineer (s) for a role on-board a Commercial Fishing Vessel, operating out of Darwin, NT conducting 10-14 day trips at sea.
MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Controls and manages the operation and maintenance of a ship's plant and equipment.
* Oversee the operation of all machinery onboard the ship.
* Safe operation of all the propulsion machineries, power generating equipment and auxiliaries.
* Safe operation and maintenance of lubricating systems, engine room auxiliaries and electrical equipment.
* Keep the master fully informed about the condition of the ship's machinery, its effect on the ship's operations and where defective machinery could affect the safety or operation of the ship.
* Maintain safety equipment.
* Manage and log fuel and water consumption.
* Safe maintenance of ship defects and maintaining records.
* Relevant tasks carried out on a commercial vessel involved in fishing operations.
* Reports to the master
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
* Senior First aid certificate
* Basic Safety Training - COP
* Survival Craft & Rescue Boats – COP
* MED II - COP
* Minimum 5 years sea time
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $80,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year
