Overview
From CNN to The Huffington Post, the world is talking about the innovative movement that is downsizing global poverty. The Borgen Project believes that leaders of the most powerful nations on earth should be doing more to address global poverty, and the national campaign is working to make poverty a focus of foreign policy.
Internship Details
* Part‐time, 12 hours per week, 12‐week program (unpaid, remote).
* College credit may be available.
* New programs begin every month; choose your start month.
Key Responsibilities
* Advocacy Leadership Development – Meet with government members, represent The Borgen Project at business, political and community events, and mobilise individuals to contact their representatives in support of key poverty‐reduction legislation.
* Fundraising Development – Learn how to fundraise, create and manage a personal fundraising campaign, and meet fundraising targets.
* Recruitment – Update job postings, inform groups and classes of openings, introduce recruitment platforms, and listen to interview processes.
* Marketing and Promotion – Pitch story ideas to print, broadcast and digital media, use social media, and develop strategies for web‐based messaging.
Qualifications
No prior experience is required; we are looking for people who are passionate about fighting poverty and righting wrongs, regardless of GPA or background.
