Leichhardt is an independent, Australian-owned solar salt project headquartered in Perth with operations in northern Western Australia. Our sites include the Lake MacLeod operations near Carnarvon and the Eramurra Project, 55km outside Karratha.

Lake MacLeod also produces approximately 1Mtpa of gypsum, predominantly exported to the Asia-Pacific region. Our gypsum operation includes excavation and water leaching to produce a plasterboard and cement grade product.

About the Role

To support our next phase of growth, we are seeking a Supervisor: Quality - Gypsum to join our team at Lake MacLeod, working back-to-back with our current Supervisor.

This role is responsible for the direct supervision of members of our Gypsum team, and ensuring quality outcomes throughout gypsum operations covering mining, leaching, haulage and shipping. The role will work 4 days, 5 off, 5 days, 4 off, 5 days 5 off on a rotating roster.

This is a rare opportunity to step into a supervisory position, working closely with, and reporting directly to the Superintendent: Quality and Gypsum. This role operates on a rotating day shift pattern.

Key Responsibilities

* Coordinating the assignment of people and equipment to safely, effectively and efficiently accomplish the gypsum mining plan.
* Developing mining, reclaim and dozing plans to achieve customer quality outcomes.
* Managing contractors effectively and efficiently to ensure compliance with regulations whilst maintaining cost effective outcomes for the company.
* Planning and overseeing safe gypsum leaching activities to ensure quality and efficiencies are maximized.
* Ensuring adherence to WHS policies, procedures, safety standards and statutory mining regulations.
* Contributing to continuous improvement by identifying and implementing opportunities for improvement and innovation across the business.
* Providing safety leadership by consulting with workers, delivering training, ensuring correct PPE use, and maintaining effective safety communication.
* Maintaining accurate documentation including shift reports, timesheets, incident reports, monthly reports and operational records.
* Building strong working relationships, supporting company values, and participating in performance development and training programs.
* Fostering a positive, accountable, high?performance team culture while undertaking additional duties as required by management.

What We're Looking For

* Minimum 2-years experience in the resources industry
* Experience in leading teams, contractor management, and load and haul operations
* A valid WA C class drivers licence (HR or MC class preferred)
* WA WHS Statutory Supervisor certification
* Appropriate WHS Risk Managements units of competency in accordance with Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022
* Experience in the operation of mobile equipment, including training and assessing others
* Excellent communication and organisation skills, with a high attention to detail
* Ability to identify improvements, set up systems and implement change
* Capability to work autonomously, be self-sufficient and meet deadlines
* Exceptional oral and written communication skills
* High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

It will also be beneficial if you have:

* Quarry Manager or Restricted Quarry Manager certification
