About The Organisation
Edmund Rice Education Australia (EREA) Flexible Schools Ltd currently educates over 2,400 young people in 21 flexible learning schools (12 based in Queensland and 9 elsewhere across Australia) and two special education services schools in NSW, with approximately 700 staff nationally. Flexi schools support young people experiencing complex educational, social or psychological situations. They use a trauma‐informed methodology based on the principles of honesty, respect, participation, safe & legal to co‐create a common ground for learning. The special schools serve young people with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities.
About The Role
The Teacher reports to the Head of Campus and Area Principal and has delegated responsibility to develop and maintain learning and social inclusion responses across the campus.
* Plan, prepare and deliver effective learning and teaching programs for young people.
* Contribute to the development and implementation of the EREAFS objectives and planning.
* Work collaboratively with all staff to provide a safe, inclusive work environment for staff and young people.
* Build proactive relationships with young people, families/carers and the community to achieve the best outcomes for each young person.
About You
* Certificate of Queensland Teacher Registration.
* Relevant qualifications and skills.
* Demonstrated ability to develop and implement a range of learning choices that meet diverse characteristics, needs and learning styles of young people.
* Demonstrated ability to differentiate curriculum (ACARA, QCAA, VET) to meet the needs of young people.
* Demonstrated success in building relationships with young people at risk.
* Highly developed interpersonal skills in a cross‐cultural environment, relating to colleagues, young people and parents.
* Commitment to participate in critical reflection around working together under the Four Principles of operation: respect, safe and legal, honesty and participation.
