Why Consider This Role?
Beyond project delivery, you'll lead from the front — mentoring emerging talent, strengthening client partnerships and contributing to business growth. You'll work with a broad client base, from junior developers to large mining organisations (400ktpa to >4Mtpa). Integrated teams across open pit mining, geology, geotechnical engineering, processing, environmental and permitting. MEC's broader management team and technical subject matter experts. A peer group that understands your technical and strategic challenges.
Our Track Record
We've worked with more than 20 clients to deliver work which includes turnaround life of mine planning, mining studies and trade‐offs, open pit to underground transition assessments, due diligence and independent project reviews. Our underground services now span:
* 34 mines
* 50 new projects secured
* 70 projects completed or continued through repeat work
What Your First Year Could Look Like
* Life‐of‐mine underground planning for a tin producer (3 months).
* Underground mine planning for an integrated open pit / underground gold pre‐feasibility study (3 months).
* Trade‐off studies, conceptual mine planning and pre‐feasibility mining engineering for an open pit to underground copper block cave transition (5 months).
* Integrated multi‐discipline due diligence for a strategic base metals acquisition (1 month).

What You'll Bring
* 15 years' technical experience in underground hard rock mining.
* Proven experience leading and delivering long‐term mine planning.
* Expertise in delivering mining study packages.
* Proficiency in Deswik.
* Interest in business development.
* A hands‐on approach to mentoring and leadership.
* Willingness to travel to site intermittently.
* Full unrestricted working rights in Australia.
