About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Project/Electrical Engineer to join a major tunnelling project in the Tweed Heads region on a 6-month contract, with potential for extension. This role supports critical tunnel maintenance activities, including scheduled tunnel closures that occur for two weeks each quarter.
The position is based primarily out of the Tugun office, with some flexibility available for the right candidate. A strong maintenance background—whether from mining, industrial, or similar sectors—will set you up for success.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee tunnel maintenance works, contract administration, project management, and shutdown planning
* Support systems related to control software and PLC (advantageous but not essential)
* Utilise maintenance management tools and systems
* Ensure safety, compliance, and operational excellence during all maintenance activities
Requirements:
Engineering degree
Solid electrical engineering experience, ideally in maintenance-focused roles (mining, industrial or similar)
Understanding of control systems software and PLCs (desirable, not essential)
Proficient with maintenance systems/tools
Safety-focused, reliable, and adaptable in a dynamic project environment
Ability to work occasional night shifts
