Job Description
Salt Restaurants PTY LTD, trading as Salt Indian Cuisine Padbury, is a well‐established Indian restaurant located in Padbury, Western Australia. We are expanding and seeking an experienced, passionate Cook to join our team on a full‐time basis.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare, cook, and present a range of authentic Indian dishes according to established recipes and quality standards.
* Assist in menu planning and suggest new dishes based on seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
* Monitor food preparation and cooking processes to ensure consistency, quality, and portion control.
* Prepare ingredients, including vegetables, meats, spices, sauces, and marinades.
* Maintain food storage, handling, and preparation in accordance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
* Monitor stock levels, assist with ordering supplies and inventory.
* Inspect ingredients and finished dishes to maintain high standards of freshness and quality.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen workstations, equipment, and storage areas.
* Work collaboratively with chefs and kitchen staff during busy service periods.
* Minimise food wastage and contribute to cost‐effective kitchen operations.
* Comply with workplace health and safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications & Experience
* Certificate III or Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification.
* Minimum 1–2 years of full‐time relevant work experience as a Cook, preferably in an Indian restaurant environment.
* Demonstrated knowledge of Indian cuisine, spices, cooking techniques, and food preparation methods.
* Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety requirements.
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast‐paced kitchen environment.
* Excellent organisational and time‐management skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Passion for food quality, presentation, and customer satisfaction.
