Working with minimal professional direction, you will perform more complex radiographic examinations using specialised equipment, ensuring every scan is completed safely, accurately and with a strong focus on patient care.
Your expertise will support clinicians in making informed decisions and contribute directly to improved patient outcomes.
In this senior clinical role, you will also provide professional guidance to radiographers, newly graduated practitioners, and students undertaking clinical placements or work experience.
You will contribute to departmental research initiatives and quality assurance programs, helping to enhance imaging standards and support continuous improvement.

About You You are an experienced and adaptable radiographer who brings strong clinical judgement, advanced technical skill and a commitment to delivering safe, high-quality diagnostic imaging.
With excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, you contribute positively to the imaging environment and demonstrate leadership through mentoring, teaching and supporting junior staff and students.
Educational/Vocational Qualifications – Appropriate Medical Radiation degree and registration as a Diagnostic Radiographer with the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia, plus eligibility for the required radiation apparatus licence under the Radiation Protection and Control Act ****.
Personal Abilities/Aptitudes/Skills – Ability to perform a wide range of imaging procedures; assess and select appropriate clinical and technical requirements; work independently with initiative; collaborate effectively with all staff levels; communicate clearly; adapt to change; maintain positive working relationships; show innovation and resourcefulness; and competently teach and supervise staff and students.
Experience – Experience performing complex general radiography procedures; assessing image quality; and applying departmental safety and quality improvement programs in daily practice.
Knowledge – Understanding of patient needs; thorough knowledge of safe radiation practices and medico-legal responsibilities; familiarity with RIS and PACS; knowledge of EEO, WHS and human resource principles; understanding of regulatory requirements under the Radiation Protection and Control Act ****; and appreciation of patient cultural considerations.
