The Water and Wetlands and Coastal Science team is seeking two experienced professionals to monitor, evaluate and report on wetland health in the Murray-Darling Basin. This role involves integrating script development for advanced computer-based data processing and modeling, incorporating remote sensing and spatial analysis, data management, and field work.
Successful candidates will have experience in developing scripts using Python for environmental data analysis and modeling, with strong knowledge of remote sensing products and models to track floodplain wetland inundation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement advanced computer-based data processing and modeling techniques
* Conduct remote sensing and spatial analysis, including data management and evaluation
* Participate in field work to monitor wetland hydrology and assist with technical report preparation
Requirements:
* Science degree or postgraduate degree in environmental science, geospatial science, or related discipline
* Extensive scripting experience using Python for modeling and computer-based analysis of environmental spatial data
* Demonstrated experience in data management, remote sensing, and spatial analysis using Arc Pro, QGIS, or similar software
