Learning and Wellbeing Assistant
This role provides a unique opportunity to support students with disability in a small group setting. The successful applicant will work under the direction of the assigned classroom teacher to ensure inclusive education for all students.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Support students with disability in a small group setting
* Assist in providing quality Christian education to students
* Work under the direction of the assigned classroom teacher
* Report relevant aspects of student progress to teachers and other key leaders
The ideal candidate will possess strong technology skills, be able to meet the following key criteria:
* Be able to assist in providing quality Christian education to students
* A Certificate III and/or IV in School Based Education Support is desirable
* An understanding of how students with disability learn, and the ability to assist the teacher to make adjustments in all areas of their learning and development both in the classroom and playground is required
* Experience working with students with disability is essential
Additional requirements include holding a current First Aid Certificate (HLTAID004) and having completed Asthma, Anaphylaxis, and Diabetes training, or being willing to obtain these.
The successful applicant will demonstrate a genuine love of children and be committed to their growth in learning. They must also demonstrate a relational approach to their work, and a willingness to partner with teachers, students and parents. Contributions to the culture of the College community are expected.
As a Learning and Wellbeing Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff and students on excursions and camps. You will have the opportunity to report relevant aspects of student progress to teachers and other key leaders, contributing to professional discussions to ensure inclusive education for all students.
Our innovative forward-thinking Learning Plan responds specifically to the academic, social, and emotional requirements unique to each child. Our intentionally designed curriculum is structured for smaller classroom settings and is stage-based, founded upon a Biblical worldview.
We prioritise investment in remedial literacy, numeracy programs, and critical life and independent living skills. In 2026, the school will have enrolments from years 3-8, comprised of 3 small classes. Each class will have approximately 5-10 students, a Class Teacher and Learning and Wellbeing Assistant.
