We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor / Cost Estimator to join our project team and support the successful delivery of a significant project.
With an immediate requirement within the business, we are open to engaging the right candidate on a contractor (ABN), casual or fixed-term employment basis.

Reporting directly to the Project Director and working closely with the Cost Controller, Lead Engineer and Operations Readiness team, you will play a key role in supporting project cost management, contractor performance, estimating and commercial reporting activities throughout the project lifecycle.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain broad exposure across quantity surveying, cost management, project controls and commercial project delivery within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
The permanent role includes regular travel to Mali to support site activities.
The Role
* Review and verify contractor payment claims and supplier invoices
* Assist with cost estimate preparation, forecasting and cashflow reporting
* Support monthly project cost reporting and commercial reporting activities
* Monitor contractor progress against project milestones and deliverables
* Track and administer project variations and scope changes
* Coordinate with contractors, consultants and site personnel to obtain progress updates and supporting documentation
* Assist with project cost tracking and expenditure monitoring
* Review contractual documentation and support contract administration activities
* Maintain accurate commercial records and project documentation
* Support the project team with commercial, estimating and project controls activities as required
About You
You are a hands-on professional who thrives in a fast-paced project environment, enjoys solving problems and takes pride in delivering accurate, high-quality work. You are comfortable working across multiple disciplines, building relationships with contractors and project teams, and following issues through to completion.
You bring initiative, attention to detail and a willingness to roll up your sleeves and contribute wherever needed. Above all, you are dependable, commercially minded and committed to helping the team achieve successful project outcomes.
Key requirements
* Experience in quantity surveying, cost estimating, project controls, commercial management or a related discipline
* Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, Commerce or similar
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* High attention to detail and a commercial mindset
* Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
* The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
* A proactive approach and willingness to learn and contribute across multiple project functions
* Willingness to work within Mali time zones
