Our Isaac Plains Mine is a metallurgical coal mine owned and operated by Stanmore and located 20km's outside of Moranbah.
Job Description
The Opportunity
Responsibilities
We have a newly created opportunity for an Environmental & Cultural Support Officer to join the site team. You will be responsible for:

* Monitor key environmental parameters to ensure compliance with regulatory obligations and environmental agreements.
* Coordination and timely scheduling of environmental inspections and monitoring around site to ensure compliance with environmental obligations.
* Support site-wide environmental awareness campaigns and contribute to the delivery of staff training initiatives.
* Assist in the preparation of environmental reports and other regulatory documentation.
* Apply established procedures, develop innovative solutions, and lead small projects to improve environmental outcomes. Build relationships with a range of key stakeholders
* Maintain accurate records and analyse metrics and reports to support compliance to the site Environment compliance requirements.
* Assist with environmental audits to ensure statutory and legislative compliance is met in regard to the Environment Management System
* Assist with Social Governance activities and Community interactions where necessary
* Contribute to the development and ongoing maintenance of systems that support cultural engagement and compliance with relevant standards.
* Build and maintain strong, respectful relationships with Traditional Owner groups and other cultural support roles across Stanmore
* Develop and sustain positive engagement with First Nations employees and contractors across site.
* Support initiatives focused on the recruitment, work-readiness, retention, inclusion, and development of First Nations people to ensure successful integration into the workforce.
* Assist with the delivery of cultural awareness training and promote cultural education across the site.
* Consistently demonstrate safe work practices and comply with all HSE policies and procedures.
* Promote awareness of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) practices to help foster a strong safety culture.
* Report all HSE incidents in a timely and accurate manner.
Key Site Based Relationships
* Reporting to the Principal Environment & Community
* Supported by Senior Environmental Advisor
Qualifications Experience required:
* Experience in environmental systems is desirable (not essential)
* Experience with water testing is desirable (or willing to obtain)
* Collaborative and innovative individual who executes continuous improvement initiatives and conversations.
* Experienced diary/calendar management.
* Strong support and/or customer focus in previous roles
* Experience in mining or industrial environments (not essential)
* Willingness to learn and grow within the role.
* Strong planning, prioritisation, and problem-solving abilities.
* Demonstrated experience supporting Indigenous engagement and/or working with First Nation groups.
* Knowledge and experience in managing cultural relationships and engagement processes.
* Understanding of cultural awareness training and education requirements.
* Effective facilitation, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
* Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
* High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
