We’re looking for a highly motivated
Lead / Staff Engineer
to manage and deliver small to mid-sized technical projects with a focus on mechanical and civil engineering systems. In this role, you'll take ownership of engineering analysis, design modifications, and failure investigations, while collaborating with cross-functional teams and clients. This is a outstanding opportunity for an analytical thinker who excels in both field and office environments and thrives on solving complex engineering challenges.
What You’ll Do:
Perform engineering calculations and root cause analysis using client-provided data
Develop and refine plant design changes ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards
Lead onsite implementation of system modifications and support field walkdowns
Evaluate pressure vessel and piping failures and recommend improvements
Analyze degradation mechanisms such as Flow-Accelerated Corrosion and MIC
Support geometry and structural evaluations of piping and supports
Communicate directly with clients and stakeholders, ensuring timely response to technical requests
Lead small engineering teams and contribute to successful project delivery
✅ What You Bring:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering (MS or MBA is a plus)
Project management experience leading engineering teams (≤5 engineers) for power generation projects
PE license in any state (or PEng in Canada) required
Experience with FEA tools and stress analysis techniques
Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (ASME, AISC, etc.)
Experience with root cause and metallurgical failure analysis
Utility or field experience with complex mechanical systems (BWR/PWR experience a plus)
Proficient with tools like AutoCAD, AutoPIPE, and Microsoft Office
Strong communication, report writing, and client-facing skills
Willingness to travel occasionally for field assignments
