Key responsibilities
* Identify and interpret customer parts requests using vehicle identification numbers (VINs), part numbers, and technical descriptions.
* Experience a new car franchise would be advantageous.
* Communicate with customers and technicians to clarify parts requirements and ensure accurate ordering.
* Process parts orders efficiently and manage inventory systems to track availability and stock levels.
* Verify part compatibility with specific vehicle makes, models, and years before confirming orders.
* Maintain accurate records of parts requests, orders, and customer interactions.
* Liaise with suppliers and manage delivery schedules to meet customer deadlines.
* Provide technical advice to customers regarding part applications and compatibility.
* Resolve discrepancies and handle returns or incorrect shipments professionally.
What we're looking for
* Proven experience as a Parts Interpreter or similar role within the automotive industry.
* Strong knowledge of automotive parts, vehicle systems, and technical terminology across multiple makes and models.
* Proficiency in reading and interpreting vehicle identification numbers (VINs) and technical schematics.
* Experience using parts catalogues and automotive software applications.
* Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple requests simultaneously.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clarify technical information clearly.
* Attention to detail and accuracy in parts identification and order processing.
* Customer service orientation with the ability to build positive relationships with technicians & customers.
* Proficiency with computer systems and willingness to learn new software platforms.
