About The Role
Grampians Health Ballarat is offering a fantastic role for trainees pursuing a career through the College of Intensive Care Medicine. This position is perfect for those looking to gain hands‐on experience in critical care, general medicine, paediatrics and anaesthesia. The positions will comprise of 6 months of ICU, plus 6 months of either: Anaesthesia, Paediatrics or General Medicine.
The Roles Will Involve
* Deliver appropriate senior medical support to ICU HMOs and clinical management of patients in ICU
* Assist in the management of acute deteriorating patients in the ward and Emergency Department
* Join a dynamic team in a major training site affiliated with the University of Melbourne and Deakin Rural Clinical Schools, with a strong commitment to teaching and professional development
Key Responsibilities
* Undertake the full range of clinical ICU activities consistent with training and experience
* Support team leader at MET/Code Blue Emergency Response calls across all areas of the hospital
* Liaise with ward nursing staff to provide guidance with acute clinical management issues
* Undertake the full range of clinical ICU activities consistent with training and experience
* Assist with the Coordination of inter – hospital transfers in association with ARV and the treating clinical teams
Skills And Experience
* Medical Registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA)
* MBBS or equivalent degree enabling registration with the Medical Board of Victoria
* Satisfactory Completion of at least three postgraduate years
* Currently registered as a CICM trainee or commitment to being selected in the CICM training program
