Position Overview Senior Consultant, Industrial Relations – 12‑month fixed‑term contract. The role focuses on delivering a next‑generation payroll system and ensuring compliance with enterprise agreements and industrial regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Interpret complex enterprise agreements and provide guidance on payroll compliance.
Lead remediation processes and manage remediation milestones.
Collaborate across departments, including Legal, Project Management, and IT, to validate compliance requirements and implement technical solutions.
Design and execute testing regimes and review processes to ensure the payroll platform meets current obligations and future regulatory changes.
Identify gaps, propose enhancements, and document outcomes to strengthen system integrity.
Act as a trusted partner by promoting best practice, continuous improvement, and compliance in a transformative project.
Required Qualifications
Substantial experience in industrial/employee relations, including expertise in employment law.
Hands‑on experience with payroll systems and a deep understanding of legislative frameworks governing payroll.
Track record of implementing compliance measures within large organisations.
Experience engaging unions and understanding union priorities and practices.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; ability to present findings, explain regulatory considerations and facilitate training.
Highest qualification – a degree in Employee / Industrial Relations / Human Resources / Law or an equivalent discipline.
