RELOCATION OPPORTUNITY

Clinical Leader – Pinangba Services – Star of the Sea Elders Village, Thursday Island

* Employment Term: Permanent Full Time
* Location: Thursday Island
* Remuneration: $68.95 ph + Super + Not for Profit Salary Packaging + Penalties & Allowances
* Other benefits: Access up to $15,900 per year tax‐free with an additional $2,650 per year for meal and entertainment.
Additional Benefits
* Sign On Bonus: $2,000
* Retention Bonuses: $27,500 paid in instalments over 24 months.
* Relocation Package: up to $5,000 for relocation to Thursday Island.

Star of the Sea Elders Village sits high above the ocean on Thursday Island, offering sweeping views of the sea, coral reefs and palm trees.

About the Role

Reporting to the Residential Services Manager, you will provide effective clinical leadership and oversight of clinical care to facilitate quality care based on assessed residents' needs that enhances and promotes quality of life. You will play a key role in providing clinical mentoring and coaching for all registered and non‐registered care staff.

Responsibilities
* Ensure resident care is assessed, planned, implemented and evaluated in accordance with the Pinangba model of care, considering each client's physical, social, emotional and clinical needs.
* Assist and inform the Residential Service Manager to ensure that the service meets all accreditation standards.
* Provide clinical service monitoring reports to the registered staff and the cluster governance forum.
* Provide expert advice and support against all key clinical indicators and their application in practice.
* Ensure that all new clinical staff are appropriately oriented to the clinical care services and supported/encouraged in their ongoing professional development.
* Oversee clinical and pharmaceutical ordering.
* Infection control and outbreak preparedness for facility – training provided if required through Australasian College of Infection Prevention and Control.
Qualifications
* Current AHPRA registration as a Division 1 Registered Nurse.
* Post‐graduate qualifications in a Health discipline or Management (or working towards a qualification).
* Extensive general nursing experience and demonstrated skills reflective of experience.
* Demonstrated experience and knowledge in Australian National Aged Care Classification funding model (ANACC).
* Demonstrated understanding of resident‐based, person‐centred care service delivery.
* Extensive clinical care management experience, including experience in infection control or willingness to undertake training in IPC.
* Knowledge of continuous quality improvement practices.
