Overview
Newcastle Private Hospital, a 189-bed private facility, is seeking Registered Nursing applicants to join our Recovery, Day Surgery & Surgical Admissions team on a casual basis.
Responsibilities
- Undertake acute nursing care in accordance with legislation.
- Deliver evidence-based nursing care.
- Liaise with the multi-disciplinary team.
- Ensure patient and staff safety.
- Supervise, direct and guide nursing team members, ENs and AINs, to deliver patient care.
- Proactively assess the perioperative nursing care to ensure best possible outcomes.
- Complete all required documentation in accordance with local and National Policies.
Qualifications
- Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
- Minimum of 3 years’ relevant post-registration qualifications.
- Demonstrated experience working within an acute surgical unit – preferably in a Day Surgery, Admissions, or Recovery setting.
- Knowledge and application of quality improvement initiatives using research principles to support evidence-based practice, including development of policies and guidelines.
- Ability to work effectively in a supportive team.
- Ability to advocate for and implement individualised patient-centred care.
- Skilled manner when working with complex situations; advanced communication skills as part of a multi-disciplinary team with a willingness to learn new skills.
- Flexibility to a seven-day roster including night duty.
Salary and Benefits
Salary based on years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current Healthscope and NSWNMA/ANMF – NSW Nurses and Midwives’ – Enterprise Agreement 2024, ranging from $39.09 – $54.89 per hour.
