Family Violence Senior Worker

This is a challenging and rewarding role for an experienced professional who is passionate about supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and children experiencing family violence.


About the Role

The Family Violence Senior Case Worker provides holistic case management to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and their children in the Western Melbourne and Brimbank Melton areas. They will build positive relationships and networks with relevant organisations and services to ensure that appropriate referrals and supports are put in place.


Key Responsibilities

* Provide holistic case management to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and their children experiencing family violence
* Build positive relationships and networks with relevant organisations and services
* Ensure that appropriate referrals and supports are put in place


Requirements

* Demonstrated commitment and understanding of the values that underpin VACCA's vision and purpose
* Awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal societies and cultures, along with awareness of the key issues which impact upon Aboriginal communities
* Demonstrated awareness of family violence issues and the impacts on women, children and families
* A tertiary qualification in social work, psychology, family therapy, counselling or a related discipline
* Current COVID-19 vaccination (including booster dose, as applicable), a Working with Children's Check (or willingness to obtain) National Police Check and a Victorian Driver Licence
