Overview
The Australian Red Cross is seeking volunteers for an ongoing role at the Accommodation Centre in Rockhampton. The Centre provides accommodation and Medical Equipment Hire services to clients of the Rockhampton Hospital. The program reflects the Red Cross wellbeing model, with openness, welcome and homeliness to mirror health and recovery.
Responsibilities
* Provide a welcoming environment for people travelling from rural and remote areas to receive medical treatment, and support their recovery by listening and offering a friendly voice.
* Assist with administrative functions and coordinate tasks using MS Office (particularly MS Excel) or similar packages; manage time and stay organized.
* Work as part of a team with reliability, initiative, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
* Commit to at least one shift per week on a regular basis (weekdays – mornings & afternoons) and list availability on the application form.
Qualifications / Requirements
* Ability to communicate with a diverse cross section of the community, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
* Demonstrated time management and organizational skills.
* Proficiency in MS Office, particularly MS Excel, or similar packages.
* Reliability, initiative, flexibility to take direction, and ability to work with minimum supervision while contributing as part of a team.
