About the Role
This position is a permanent, full‐time role based at Murray Bridge Training Area, SA, responsible for ensuring the readiness and functionality of Defence Training Areas.
Responsibilities
* Ensure the readiness and functionality of Defence Training Areas.
* Coordinate contractor tasks for the Training Area Range, including land care, cleaning, waste management, and estate upkeep.
* Plan, deploy, test, and recover live fire targets with Defence Units.
* Manage TAR gates and flags according to approved firing schedules.
* Build and repair targets using Defence supplies.
* Conduct non‐technical inspections and support contractor technical checks.
* Maintain TAR readiness, such as weed control and facility upkeep.
* Operate DART, MTR, SMR, and new target systems.
* Manage inventory, stock control, and storage of range equipment.
Qualifications
* Experience in planning, placing, testing, and recovering range live fire target equipment (highly desirable).
* Ability to operate and maintain target systems such as DART, MTR, and SMR.
* Experience with inventory control, stock management, and storage maintenance.
* Range Officer accreditation or relevant safety training (highly regarded).
* Prior experience in the ADF or Defence industry (highly regarded).
* Must be an Australian Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
