DFP Recruitment is seeking an experienced Assistant Director Program Manager to join a Federal Government agency in a high-profile role supporting strategic policy, reform and program delivery initiatives. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated leader who can drive complex projects and policy outcomes, build strong stakeholder relationships and contribute to meaningful reform that delivers positive outcomes for Australians. Working within a collaborative and fast-paced environment, you will lead strategic initiatives, provide expert advice and guide the delivery of policy, programs and projects across a range of priority areas.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the development, implementation and evaluation of strategic policy and reform initiatives.
* Manage complex projects and programs with agency-wide impact.
* Prepare and review high-quality policy papers, briefings, reports, presentations and correspondence.
* Provide leadership, guidance and direction to teams delivering policy, program and project outcomes.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Undertake risk assessment and governance activities to support informed decision-making.
* Contribute to strategic planning and longer-term program initiatives.
* Provide expert advice on policy, legislation, commissioning and program implementation activities.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
* Experience leading the development and implementation of policy within a government environment.
* Strong knowledge of strategic policy, reform and program delivery.
* Experience leading teams to deliver complex projects, programs or policy initiatives.
* Sound understanding of legislation, governance and risk management.
* Exceptional analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent written communication skills, including experience preparing documents for a government audience.
* Proven ability to build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
* Ability to adapt and respond to changing priorities in a dynamic environment.
Highly Regarded
* Experience within the disability sector.
* Experience with strategic commissioning activities.
* Understanding of Commonwealth Procurement Rules.
* Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience.
