Lawyer - Senior Associate, Workplace Relations
Act primarily for employers on matters such as post‐employment restraints, unfair and unlawful dismissal, enterprise bargaining, industrial disputes, compliance with workplace laws, organisational change strategy and management, sexual harassment and discrimination, workplace health and safety and workplace investigations.
Key responsibilities include:
* Providing legal advice on post‐employment restraints, unfair dismissal, enterprise bargaining, industrial disputes, compliance with workplace laws, organisational change strategy and management, sexual harassment, discrimination, workplace health and safety and workplace investigations.
* Assisting with workplace investigations and related procedures.
* Contributing to marketing activities including writing articles and presenting at client events.
Qualifications and experience:
* Minimum of two years public accountancy experience or equivalent.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, high-level drafting ability.
* Attention to detail, teamwork and the capacity to tailor advice to audiences.
* Knowledge of Australian employment law, including:
* Employment contracts
* Industrial relations
* Discrimination claims
* Workplace bullying
* Restraint of trade claims
* Transfer of business
* Fair Work Act compliance
* Work health and safety
* Employment disputes
* Enterprise bargaining
* Dismissal claims
* Independent contractors
Desirable professional attributes: aptitude for private practice business aspects such as time recording, billing, debtor management and matter control; commitment to client service and continuous learning.
