Position Overview:We are seeking a motivated and reliable Trade Assistant to join a team at an industry leader in providing commercial and industrial laundry services. As a Trade Assistant, you will provide vital support to our skilled technicians and tradespeople in maintaining, repairing, and servicing laundry equipment, ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities.This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are interested in working in a hands-on environment, gaining experience in industrial machinery, and contributing to the efficient running of our laundry operations.x2 Shift Rosters available, 6-am-2pm, 2pm-10pm, Monday to FridayKey Responsibilities:Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial laundry equipment, such as washers, dryers, ironers, and conveyors.Support senior technicians in diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults and carrying out repairs.Maintain a safe and organized work environment by adhering to health and safety procedures and using personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.Help with the routine servicing and cleaning of machinery to ensure optimal performance.Participate in inventory management of tools, spare parts, and supplies, ensuring they are readily available for repairs and maintenance tasks.Assist in troubleshooting issues related to equipment downtime and minimize operational disruptions.Perform general labor tasks such as moving parts, equipment, or supplies as required.Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including job reports, equipment logs, and service histories.Participate in preventative maintenance programs to reduce the likelihood of equipment failures.Assist with emergency breakdowns and perform repairs in a timely manner.Work collaboratively with other team members to meet production targets and maintain smooth workflow in the laundry plant.Follow all workplace safety regulations and contribute to maintaining a safe working environment.Qualifications and Skills:Previous experience in a trade or industrial maintenance environment is desirable but not required.Basic mechanical or electrical knowledge and an interest in learning about industrial machinery.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.Good communication skills and a proactive attitude to learning new skills.Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks.Willingness to undergo further training and development as required.High attention to detail and commitment to quality.Valid Forklift license (desirable but not required).Physical Demands:Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift heavy objects for extended periods.Capable of working in an environment with noise, heat, and industrial machinery.Occasional overtime or shift work may be required depending on operational needs.
