Role Overview
We are seeking experienced Steelfixers to support our upcoming Port Debottlenecking Project at BHPs Nelson Point, which includes the delivery of a new Car Dumper 6 and associated civil/structural works.
Responsibilities
* Read and interpret working plans and steel lists.
* Read placement.
* Resize steel bars or mesh to the required length using bolt cutters, guillotines and power saws.
* Assemble the reinforcing bars or mesh by welding, wiring or clipping into predetermined locations within the concrete.
* Fabricate steel reinforcement as beams, footing pads or special units.
* Join the prefabricated units together and position the reinforcement ready for concrete pours.
* Assist with concrete placement.
* Present neat documentation, correspondence and records as requested.
Qualifications
* 2+ years of industrial experience in steel fixing.
* Previous construction experience within mining and resources (preferred).
* Nationally recognised Construction Safety Awareness card (White Card).
