An industry-leading agricultural organisation is seeking an experienced Workshop Manager to join the team based in Lake Powell. This is a critical role responsible for leading and supervising a team, ensuring effective allocation of workloads and smooth day-to-day workshop operations.
The Role
Reporting to the Maintenance Operations Manager your responsibilities will include:
* Oversee job allocation, workflow, scheduling, and labour to ensure efficient day‐to‐day workshop operations.
* Coordinate operational and resources to effectively manage all active jobs.
* Ensure all required materials and supplies are ordered and available for each project.
* Assist with quoting, project management, quality checks and purchasing.
* Ensure accurate use of job numbers and time records are correct.
* Provide job estimates to maintain accuracy and cost control.
* Manage inward / outwards goods.
* Provide regular progress updates on all jobs and communicate any delays, risks, manpower shortages, or overruns to the Maintenance Operations Manager.
* Act as a technical advisor on key projects and provide expertise across the business as required.
* Support the investigation and resolution of customer complaints in collaboration with the Maintenance Operations Manager and relevant team members.
* Identify ongoing training needs and implement development opportunities to enhance team capability.
* Promote and maintain a strong Health and Safety culture throughout the organisation.
* Drive adherence to LEAN and 6S standards.
Your Background
* Trade qualified Diesel Mechanic, Fitter or Boilermaker, or equivalent.
* Extensive knowledge and hands‐on experience in the development, maintenance and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
* Strong background in managing and continuously improving risk assessment processes.
* Proven experience in driving continuous improvement initiatives and overseeing the ongoing maintenance of workshop operations.
* Demonstrated ability to lead, direct and manage teams in a structured and effective manner, ensuring clear expectations and accountability.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
